Welcome

We’re glad you’ve taken the time to learn a little about one of Melbourne’s newest, most progressive and relevant Churches. While our faith is based on a book that’s thousands of years old, we have created a culture, an environment and a communication style which is not only relevant in 2009, but we believe, necessary for today’s world.

While we believe and teach the Gospel message, we also believe that church is a place to live, laugh, love and learn. Please take a few minutes to stroll through our site and learn some more about Compass Church

ALL THEY WANT IS MY MONEY!

DON'T STOP READING WHATEVER YOU DO!
I had this thought the other day how radical Jesus must have been.  Think about it, He chats to some ordinary hard working guys who are busy doing what they do, He simply says "follow me"  and guess what?  THEY DO!  The bit that really got me thinking was what actually practically happened next?  I mean, all these guys together would have got hungry, needed places to sleep and rest.  Maybe at times needed clothing and sandals.  Yet nowhere in scripture do I see these guys begging or complaining that they don't have enough! WOW!  Jesus calls them, and then He provides for them.  As the leader He is totally responsibile for taking care of the team, and He does.
When God calls us to salvation, a job, a mission He also then takes the responsibility of caring for us very seriously.  His track record is 100% proven, He has never let anyone down in this area.  Just like the Israelites coming out of Egypt.  God clearly called them via Moses to leave their roles as slaves and move into the better place God had prepared, but being slaves THEY HAD NOTHING AT ALL TO TAKE!  Yet when God calls, He provides.  As they were leaving, the Egyptians loaded them up with insane amounts of gold, jewels and other valuable bits and pieces.

God doesn't and hasn't changed, He still provides for those who are called by Him for Him.
Jesus spoke more about money than any other subject (apart from the Kingdom of God) and it certainly is a touchy subject.  What I have noticed though is the people who get upset about a preacher talking about adultery are those who ..., or those who get upset about preaching on gossip are those who...?  SO the people who get upset about preaching on money are those who have an issue with it in their lives!  Harsh but true!

I believe God wants us to be free of the burden of worry about money and He has given clear principles for us to live by in this whole area.  If your life hasn't been going the way you want it to then maybe something needs to change, if nothing changes then NOTHING changes!

THIS WEEK at Compass Church Ps Phill is preaching on money and launching our vision for Frist Fruits for 2009.
If you have questions, want to get out of debt, want freedom from the stress of money to get on with what God is really calling you to do the you have to be there at 10am!
Have a great week

IT'S TIME FOR A MID YEAR HEALTH CHECK

HOW ARE YOUR GOALS GOING? AT LEAST WE STILL HAVE 6 MONTHS!
It's so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life and lose focus on what we really want to achieve.  How often do we really take the time to stop and evaluate where we are at, where we are going and if all the time, effort and money is being well spent?

THIS SUNDAY - IT'S TIME TO DO EXACLTY THAT!  Come along to Compass Church and STOP!  As the street crossing saying goes "STOP, LOOK, LISTEN AND THINK!"  We invite YOU to come along WITH YOUR DREAMS AND GOALS FOR 2009 and take the time to evaluate where you are at so far.
We have some exciting news of what Compass Church has already been able to achieve (but by Gods' GRACE) this year.  Ps Phill & Michael Salisbury also have an inpsiring message that they are really looking forward to putting out there, so please don't miss out!

Have a great week

BRING A FRIEND TO CHURCH DAY - FEAR

HAVE YOU EVER EXPERIENCED FEAR?
I know I have!

I could give a long list of times that fear gripped me or made me freeze and other times do a runner! Fear has the ability to suffocate, stifle, smother and leech life out of us.  Depending on the situation fear can cause us to fight or flight, freeze or tremble uncontrollably.

Fear can be a positive thing and keep us from danger but there can be the kind of fear that holds us back from living life to the full.  Fear can sometimes stop us from experiencing life, love, laughter, joy, peace and the good times that pass us by becasue we are so polarized by it.  The good news is that no matter what sort of fear may have a grip on us, it doesn't have to be that way. Believe it or not there is something that can not just take away fear but even better, replace it!  Fear can actually replaced by a beautiful thing called LOVE, God's LOVE!  Think about it, can fear and real love exist in the same place at the same time within a person?  We are not talking about any ordinary love here, we are talking about unconditional and perfect LOVE!  This kind of love has many effects on us and one of those is that it can break the strangle hold of fear.  Sounds simple, the issue is never with the giver but always with the receiver, that's you and me!  God is always ready to express and supernaturally fill us with His love.
Are you up for it?

THIS SUNDAY:  Bring a friend to Church day is all about FEAR!  DOn't be scared, we wold love for you to come along and join us explorng this topic and find out if God really can make a difference!
Have a great week
